Norway is grappling with a significant flu outbreak this winter, with cases and hospitalizations rising sharply.
The Norwegian Institute of Public Health (FHI) reports that 31% of flu tests were positive last week, with children aged 5-14 most affected.
Hospitals across the country are struggling to manage the influx, with some facilities running out of isolation rooms.
Over 600 flu-related hospitalizations have been recorded in the past two weeks, including several intensive care cases.
Experts note that this is the largest flu outbreak since before the COVID-19 pandemic, partly due to reduced immunity in the population.
FHI urges high-risk groups, including the elderly and those with chronic illnesses, to get vaccinated.
The flu season is expected to peak soon, but the strain on healthcare systems remains a concern.
