An 84-year-old man, Jakob Hjelden, tragically drowned in Innfjorden, Rauma, on August 4th.
Emergency services, including an ambulance and air ambulance, responded swiftly to the scene after receiving a call at 14:20. Despite efforts to administer life-saving first aid, Hjelden was pronounced dead shortly after being found near his boat.
The police have informed the family and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
This incident adds to the rising number of drowning cases in Norway, with 56 reported so far this year, surpassing last year's figures at the same time.
