Freight Train Derails, Delays Persist

A freight train derailed near Hønefoss station on Wednesday morning, causing significant disruptions on the Bergensbanen railway.

Two train cars left the tracks, but no injuries were reported, and the cargo posed no environmental risks.

The derailment, which occurred at 10:46 AM, led to the closure of the railway for several hours.

Emergency teams and safety personnel were dispatched to assess the situation and begin recovery efforts.

By 3:13 PM, the line was reopened, though delays and cancellations are still expected.
