Train Delays Disrupt Norway's Rail Network

Published: 2025-02-26

Norway's rail network has faced significant disruptions this week due to multiple technical issues.

On Wednesday morning, a track switch failure at Lysaker caused delays and cancellations across major lines, including the Østfold and Vestfold routes.

Although the issue was resolved, residual delays persist.

Additionally, a signal fault between Moss and Vestby has halted trains on the Østfoldbanen, with no clear timeline for resolution.

Earlier in the week, a ground fault at Oslo S disrupted 19 lines, including the Gardermobanen and Flytoget.

Bane Nor, the rail operator, has apologized for the inconvenience and is working to restore normal operations.

Passengers are advised to check updates before traveling.
