Widerøe, a Norwegian airline, is facing significant disruptions due to a slowdown action by 150 unionized aircraft technicians.
The action, which began on November 25, involves technicians working 15% slower following a breakdown in local negotiations between Widerøe Technical Services and the Norwegian Aircraft Technician Organization.
This has led to numerous flight cancellations across Norway, including major airports like Trondheim, Bergen, and Bodø.
The airline is struggling to maintain operations, with adverse winter weather exacerbating the situation by increasing the need for technical maintenance.
Widerøe is attempting to mitigate the impact by leasing maintenance services and aircraft from other providers, including Iceland Air, but normal operations are expected to take time to resume.
The airline has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to passengers.
