Tragedy in French Alps

Four Norwegians from Alta Folk High School lost their lives in a devastating avalanche in the French Alps.

The group, part of a ski and avalanche course, was caught in the snow in Val-Cenis, Maurienne Valley.

The victims, three men and one woman, hailed from different parts of Norway.

Three women survived the incident and are receiving psychological support.

The school and local authorities are deeply affected, with Norwegian and French officials providing assistance to the bereaved families.

The avalanche occurred in an area with significant avalanche risk, rated 3 out of 5. Investigations into the tragedy are ongoing.
