A tragic avalanche in Hemsedal, Norway, has claimed the life of one man, with another still missing.
The two men, both in their 30s from Trøndelag, were reported missing after failing to return from a week-long trip involving skiing and ice climbing.
Rescue teams located a large avalanche site on Sunday evening, where one body was recovered.
Search efforts for the second man have been paused overnight due to challenging conditions, including icy terrain and high altitudes.
Authorities have mobilized helicopters, snowmobiles, and rescue dogs to assist in the search.
The families of the missing men have been notified, and efforts will resume on Monday.
