Knut Storberget, the Statsforvalter in Innlandet and former Justice Minister of Norway, is under investigation following an anonymous complaint about a past relationship with a significantly younger employee.
The Digitalisation and Administration Department is handling the inquiry, treating it as a formal warning under workplace regulations.
Storberget has confirmed the relationship, which lasted four years and ended two months ago.
The situation has led to his temporary medical leave, with Sigurd Tremoen stepping in as acting Statsforvalter.
The case has raised concerns about potential impacts on trust and reputation within the office.
