In a significant legal development, Arne Bye, the former municipal doctor in Frosta, has admitted to several charges of sexual misconduct.
Bye, who is facing accusations from 95 women, has confessed to three instances of rape and 40 cases of abusing his position to obtain sexual favors.
The trial, set to begin on November 5, 2024, in Trøndelag District Court, will be conducted behind closed doors to protect the victims' privacy.
Despite the closed proceedings, the press will have access to ensure public interest is served.
The case has drawn widespread attention due to the severity and scale of the allegations, with Bye potentially facing up to 21 years in prison if convicted.
