The former municipal doctor in Frosta, Arne Bye, is facing serious charges of sexual misconduct and abuse of power involving 95 female patients, with 88 cases classified as rape.

The alleged offenses occurred between 2004 and 2022. An internal evaluation by the Norwegian Health Authority revealed that earlier warnings about Bye's behavior were not adequately addressed, suggesting that his medical license might have been restricted or revoked if the case were handled today.

The trial is set to begin on November 5th in Trøndelag District Court.
