Oil Spill Disrupts Traffic on E134

Published: 2024-08-16

A mobile crane broke down on the E134 near Spikkestad in Asker, causing an oil spill that stretched over several kilometers.

The incident, reported by police early Friday morning, led to the closure of a lane towards the Oslofjord Tunnel, resulting in significant traffic delays during the morning rush hour.

The oil spill extended from Linneslia along Røykenveien to Spikkestad, prompting police to warn drivers, especially motorcyclists, about slippery road conditions.

Cleanup efforts were underway, and by 8:32 AM, the road was reopened, although caution was still advised due to remaining oil residues.

The Norwegian Public Roads Administration placed warning signs to alert drivers of the potential hazards.

The situation was closely monitored to ensure safety on the roads.
