Thirty years after Norway's historic decision to reject EU membership, a new survey reveals a shift in sentiment among Norwegian students.
Conducted by Sentio for the Norwegian Student Organization (NSO) and Khrono, the poll shows that 40% of students now support EU membership, compared to 30% of the general population.
This contrasts with a previous survey where 56% of the general population opposed joining the EU.
NSO leader Kaja Ingdal Hovdenak suggests that students' increased travel and exchange opportunities might contribute to their more favorable view of the EU.
Meanwhile, political figures like Guri Melby, leader of the Liberal Party, are calling for renewed debate on EU membership, emphasizing its importance for Norway's security amidst ongoing European conflicts.
