Kjell Magne Bondevik, a former Norwegian Prime Minister and prominent figure in the 1994 campaign against EU membership, has reversed his stance.
After voting 'no' in two previous referendums, Bondevik now believes that Norway should join the European Union.
He acknowledges that while there are still valid arguments against joining, the reasons for membership have become more compelling.
This shift comes as Norway approaches the 30th anniversary of its decision to reject EU membership.
Bondevik's change of heart reflects a broader debate in Norway about the benefits and drawbacks of EU integration.
