Norway Welcomes Early Spring Warmth

Published: 2025-02-26

Norway is experiencing an unusually mild end to February, with temperatures above freezing across the country.

In Northern Norway, the warmth has been particularly striking, though meteorologists caution that colder air is on the way.

Despite this, long-term forecasts predict mostly spring-like weather for the next three weeks, with occasional nighttime frost.

In Southern and Eastern Norway, residents can look forward to more sunshine and rising temperatures, with some areas reaching up to 10°C.

However, regions like Trøndelag and Nordland face wetter conditions, with heavy rain expected.

Meanwhile, Finnmark remains colder, with snow and some sunshine.

Meteorologists advise caution on icy roads as melting snow refreezes overnight, and they recommend holding off on switching to summer tires just yet.

While spring seems to be arriving early, surprises in April weather remain a possibility.
