Norway is bracing for a significant weather shift as winter conditions are expected to set in across the country.

According to the Meteorological Institute, Friday will bring pleasant temperatures with double-digit warmth in many areas, but this will be short-lived.

By the weekend, a cold front will sweep in, bringing minus temperatures and snow to large parts of the country, including Oslo and Bergen.

Meteorologists warn of icy roads and advise drivers to exercise caution, especially on Monday morning.

In Agder, snow is expected from Wednesday next week, with temperatures barely above freezing in Kristiansand.

Meanwhile, the Østlandet region will experience a drop to minus ten degrees by mid-next week.

Residents are advised to prepare for the wintery conditions by ensuring their vehicles are equipped with winter tires.
