Sudden Weather Shift Threatens Southern Norway

Southern Norway is bracing for challenging weather conditions this weekend, as a sudden shift from cold to mild temperatures is expected to bring significant rainfall.

Meteorologists have issued warnings for icy rain, which occurs when rain droplets freeze upon contact with surfaces, creating dangerously slippery roads.

This phenomenon is particularly concerning for drivers, as it can be difficult to detect.

The Meteorological Institute has also issued a yellow warning for snow in parts of Eastern and Southern Norway, as well as in the mountains.

Temperatures are predicted to rise to around 10 degrees Celsius in some areas by Sunday and Monday, before dropping again mid-week.

Authorities are urging motorists to drive cautiously and be prepared for unpredictable road conditions.
