A nationwide technical glitch disrupted Norway's emergency number 112, leaving citizens unable to reach police services.
The issue, which affected the entire country, was linked to a migration to a new technical system.
Although the calls were received, they could not be answered or were abruptly disconnected.
Authorities advised those in urgent need to dial 02800 instead.
The problem, which lasted approximately 30 minutes, has since been resolved, according to Telenor's communications director, Bård Flaarønning.
The incident prompted a swift response from police IT services to identify and rectify the fault, ensuring normal operations resumed quickly.
The disruption highlighted the critical need for reliable emergency communication systems.
