Greenpeace activists staged a protest in the garden of Equinor CEO Anders Opedal, placing debris from a Brazilian flood to highlight Equinor's alleged role in climate change.
The activists argue that Opedal bears personal responsibility for Equinor's continued fossil fuel projects, which they claim exacerbate climate crises worldwide.
Equinor condemned the unannounced protest as illegal and plans to file a police report.
Despite the protest, police did not intervene, citing strong free speech protections.
Greenpeace insists the action was safe and aimed to remind Opedal of the personal impact of climate decisions, especially in regions like Brazil, where extreme weather has displaced hundreds of thousands.
