A fire broke out in a cabin near Kvåsefjorden in Kristiansand on July 30, 2024, leading to the evacuation of neighboring cabins.
According to Kristian Ekra, the operations leader at Agder police district, all occupants of the cabin were safely evacuated.
A fireboat was deployed to assist with firefighting efforts, and the risk of the fire spreading has been eliminated.
The blaze reportedly started in an outbuilding before engulfing the cabin, which has now been completely destroyed.
Firefighters are still on the scene conducting mop-up operations, and smoke from the fire was visible across large areas of Kristiansand and Høvåg.
The police have initiated an investigation into the cause of the fire.
