A snow avalanche struck Gaustatoppen in Telemark, Norway, on Friday afternoon, trapping at least one person under the snow.
Emergency services received the alert at 2:14 PM, and a rescue helicopter was dispatched from Rygge, expected to arrive by 3 PM.
According to rescue leader Ståle Jamtli, another individual on-site is attempting to dig out the trapped person.
There are no reports of additional victims, but authorities are investigating further.
Challenging visibility due to fog is complicating the rescue efforts, with ground teams also making their way to the site.
Gaustatoppen, the highest peak in Telemark, is a popular skiing destination.
