A man and a woman are stranded on the summit of Store Skagastølstind, Norway's third-highest mountain, after failing to descend due to worsening weather conditions.
The couple, aged in their 60s and 50s, began their climbing expedition on Thursday morning but became stuck as night fell.
Rescue teams attempted to reach them early Friday but had to turn back due to poor visibility, rain, and strong winds.
The temperature is around freezing, and the climbers are reported to be cold and exhausted, lacking food and proper clothing for an overnight stay.
Authorities are continuously assessing the weather in hopes of finding a safe window for a rescue operation.
Store Skagastølstind stands at 2,405 meters and requires climbing skills to reach the top, making the situation particularly challenging for the stranded climbers.
