Yellow Ice Warning Issued in Southern Norway

Published: 2024-11-30

The Meteorological Institute has issued a yellow ice warning for parts of Southern Norway, including Innlandet, Østlandet, and northern Agder.

The warning is due to a weather shift bringing mild temperatures and rain that freezes upon contact with cold surfaces, leading to potentially slippery roads and sidewalks.

In Innlandet, the risk is expected to decrease by Saturday morning, while in Østlandet and northern Agder, it will lessen by Friday evening.

Residents are advised to exercise caution, use appropriate footwear, and allow extra time for travel.

The Institute recommends checking road conditions on the Vegvesenet website for updates.
