Two Chilean men were arrested at Bergen Airport Flesland on Friday, initially for theft, but are now suspected of human trafficking involving a 14-year-old boy.
The case, which centers on forced labor rather than prostitution, is in its early stages of investigation.
The police have requested their detention due to concerns about evidence tampering and flight risk.
Both men deny the charges, with one planning to appeal the detention decision.
The boy, a foreign national, is under police care as authorities work to trace his journey to Norway.
The suspects, who were on a European holiday, were apprehended as they attempted to return home.
