Traffic chaos around Bergen was likely caused by the influx of 45,000 fans attending Bruce Springsteen's concert on Sunday.
On Monday, long queues formed at two ferry terminals connected to the E39 route, with drivers reporting waits of over an hour.
The situation was particularly severe at Oppedal ferry terminal, where traffic extended several kilometers, reaching the nearby Skrikebergtunnel.
By Monday evening, the traffic began to ease, with the Vegtrafikksentralen reporting a reduction in wait times to about 40 minutes.
Earlier in the day, delays had reached up to two hours, and the Skrikebergtunnel was temporarily closed to manage the congestion.
Meanwhile, Halhjem ferry terminal returned to normal operations by 6:30 PM, alleviating some of the pressure on the roads.
