Activists in Lillehammer, Norway, have occupied a house to protest the government’s decision to build a new E6 highway through the Lågendelta nature reserve.
Despite opposition from environmental authorities, the government has approved the project, citing it as the best option.
The protesters, who have been in the house since February, argue that the construction will cause irreversible damage to the protected area.
They have escalated their actions by climbing construction equipment, emphasizing their commitment to civil disobedience.
Police have monitored the situation but have not intervened significantly.
Environmental groups and local politicians have voiced support for the activists, urging the government to consider more sustainable alternatives.
