The Norwegian government has allocated 283 million kroner to support the inclusion of children and youth in educational and recreational activities.
This funding will be distributed to local municipalities and organizations to implement initiatives such as youth mentors, who guide vulnerable young people to complete their education.
Bodø municipality, for instance, will receive 850,000 kroner annually for three years to fund a youth mentor program.
These mentors act as bridges between young people, schools, and support services, helping them navigate challenges and stay on track.
Minister for Children and Families, Lene Vågslid, emphasized the importance of ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder young people from experiencing community and achievement.
The total funding for this initiative will reach 758 million kroner by 2025.
