A significant landslide has closed the E18 highway at Lundeslettene in Tvedestrand, Norway, following a massive rock and soil collapse early Friday morning.
The road, a crucial route between Østlandet and Sørlandet, is expected to remain closed for up to 14 days, although authorities hope to reopen it by Monday.
Geologists are currently assessing the site using drones to understand the mountain's stability.
The landslide, which occurred around 3 AM, led to the evacuation of six people, though no injuries or vehicle damages were reported.
Motorists are advised to use a 37-kilometer detour via Vegårshei, which may cause delays.
The situation is being closely monitored, with further assessments planned over the weekend to determine when the road can safely reopen.
