A significant landslide occurred on Friday afternoon in Balsfjord, Troms, affecting the area around Bergnesveien and county road 7904. The landslide, approximately one meter high, was triggered by the overflowing Mølnelva river, leading to the closure of both the E6 and the old E6 roads.
Emergency services, including police and fire departments, responded promptly to the incident.
Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, although a semi-trailer was caught in the landslide but remains on the road.
Residents in the vicinity have been advised to evacuate due to the risk of further landslides.
The situation remains uncertain as heavy rainfall is expected to continue, potentially exacerbating the conditions.
