Marius Borg Høiby, the 27-year-old son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit, has been charged with bodily harm following an incident in a private apartment in Oslo over the weekend.
The police confirmed that they responded to reports of a violent altercation on Frogner, leading to Høiby's arrest.
His lawyer, Øyvind Bratlien, stated that neither he nor Høiby has been fully briefed on the details of the case, and Høiby has not yet provided a statement to the police.
The incident reportedly involved a woman in her twenties who was present at the scene.
In light of the situation, Crown Princess Mette-Marit has postponed her trip to the Paris Olympics, while Crown Prince Haakon attended the events alone.
The police and the security service for the royal family are currently investigating the matter.
