Per-Willy Amundsen has been unanimously chosen as the top candidate for Troms Frp's parliamentary list, marking a significant step towards his fifth term in the Norwegian Parliament.
The decision was made during a nomination meeting where Amundsen pledged to address past mistakes and focus on key issues like halting green energy projects and strengthening national defense.
Despite his recent reinstatement after a suspension due to controversial social media remarks, Amundsen faced no opposition for the top spot.
However, a heated contest for the second position led Tromsø Frp, the largest local chapter, to leave the meeting in protest after their candidate lost by a narrow vote.
This internal division highlights ongoing tensions within the party.
