A devastating fire in a row house in Tønsberg on Monday morning has resulted in the deaths of two individuals and three dogs.

Emergency services were alerted just before 8 AM, and despite their swift response and attempts at life-saving measures, the victims could not be saved.

The fire, which caused significant smoke and flames, was contained by 9:32 AM, preventing further spread to neighboring homes.

Witnesses, including neighbors who tried to rescue the occupants, were deeply affected by the tragedy.

Tønsberg's mayor, Frank Pedersen, expressed his condolences and confirmed that a psychosocial crisis team has been established to support those impacted.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
