Teenagers Charged in Hate Crime Attack

Published: 2024-08-07

A gay couple in their twenties was attacked in Oslo's Tjuvholmen area on Saturday night, resulting in one man being stabbed and the other assaulted.

The police have expanded the charges against four teenagers involved, now including attempted murder and hate crime, as the attack appears to have been motivated by the victims' sexual orientation.

Both victims are currently hospitalized but in stable condition.

The suspects, two 17-year-olds and two younger teens, are known to the police and are also linked to a robbery of a Norway Cup participant earlier that week.

The police are treating this incident with high priority, emphasizing the need to address rising hate crimes against the LGBTQ+ community.
