SV Challenges Ap on Tax Policy

At the Socialist Left Party's (SV) 50th anniversary meeting, leader Kirsti Bergstø criticized the Labour Party's (Ap) tax promises, calling them vague and insufficient.

Bergstø emphasized SV's commitment to protecting welfare and ensuring no tax increases for low and middle-income earners, while advocating higher taxes on the wealthiest.

She challenged Ap to choose between alliances with the right-wing, which she claims harm welfare, or with SV, which prioritizes reducing inequality.

Bergstø also highlighted SV's achievements, including increased child benefits and progressive reforms.

The party is pushing for a minority government with Ap, arguing that recent solo Ap governments have been ineffective.

The meeting also addressed Norway's security policies, with Bergstø urging less reliance on the U.

S. and stronger Nordic cooperation.
