Storm Ashley Wreaks Havoc in Norway

Published: 2024-10-21

Storm Ashley is causing severe weather conditions across Norway, with the most intense impacts expected in the Vestland region.

An orange weather warning has been issued for areas north of Sognefjorden to Sunnmøre, predicting wind gusts of 38-43 m/s, potentially reaching hurricane force on the coast.

Kinn municipality has taken precautionary measures, including closing Skram primary school due to the anticipated closure of the Måløy bridge.

Additional boats are being arranged to ensure healthcare workers can reach their workplaces.

Residents are advised to secure loose objects and avoid travel in affected areas.

The storm is expected to bring heavy rain and high waves, with conditions easing by Monday afternoon.
