Jens Stoltenberg, Norway's finance minister, has announced his intention to continue in his role if voters re-elect the Støre government in the upcoming September elections.
Stoltenberg, who returned to Norwegian politics after a decade as NATO's Secretary General, expressed his satisfaction with his current position, stating he has no other plans.
Following the departure of the Centre Party from the coalition in January, the Labour Party now governs alone for the first time in nearly 20 years.
Stoltenberg is also on leave from his role as chair of the Munich Security Conference, which has no set deadline for his return.
The conference's leadership has expressed support for Stoltenberg's decision to remain in Norwegian politics for now.
