A serious traffic accident occurred along the E39 highway near Grinde in Tysvær, involving seven people, including a child.

The police reported that the collision was a head-on crash at high speed, resulting in critical injuries for one individual who was airlifted to Stavanger University Hospital.

Five others were transported to Haugesund Hospital, and one person was treated at a local emergency clinic.

Emergency services, including a helicopter ambulance, responded quickly to the scene.

The road is currently closed in both directions due to the severity of the accident, and traffic is backed up significantly.
