The winners of Norway's prestigious "Årets Bilde" awards have been announced, celebrating the best in photo and video journalism.

Gina Grieg Riisnæs of Aftenposten took the top honor with a haunting image of a mother comforting her severely burned daughter after a missile attack in Lebanon.

The photo, praised for its raw portrayal of war's brutality, was among 2,545 entries submitted by 173 photographers.

Other winners include Fredrik Solstad of VG for capturing a mother's grief at her daughter's funeral and Bjørn S.

Delebekk for a jubilant moment in Norwegian handball history.

The awards, organized by the Pressefotografenes Klubb, highlight the power of visual storytelling.

An exhibition featuring the winning works opens this Saturday at Sukkerbiten in Oslo, alongside a showcase by renowned photographer Nikita Teryoshin.
