The 2024 Nordic Council Film Prize has nominated Norway's film "Sex" by Dag Johan Haugerud, marking his third nomination for this prestigious award.
Haugerud, who previously won in 2020 for "Barn," is celebrated as one of Norway's most exciting filmmakers.
Meanwhile, the Amanda Awards in Haugesund crowned "Ibelin" as the best Norwegian film.
Directed by Benjamin Ree, "Ibelin" tells the poignant story of Mats Steen, a young man who lived a rich virtual life despite his physical limitations.
The film won two Amanda Awards, including Best Norwegian Film and Best Editing.
"Sex" also shone at the Amanda Awards, securing four prizes, including Best Director for Haugerud.
The awards highlight the vibrant and diverse talent in Norwegian cinema, showcasing stories that resonate both locally and internationally.
