Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre has shared the heartbreaking news of losing his newborn grandson.

The baby passed away just days after birth, a tragedy that led Støre to cancel his planned visit to Bergen last week.

The Prime Minister expressed deep sorrow, particularly for the parents, and gratitude for the healthcare workers who tried tirelessly to save the child.

Despite the personal loss, Støre attended the Storting’s question time on Wednesday and met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy last Thursday.

He emphasized the importance of family unity during this difficult time and the family's decision to be open about their grief.
