Norwegian housing prices saw a historic rise in January 2025, increasing by 4.4% nationwide, according to Eiendom Norge.
This marks one of the strongest January price hikes ever recorded, driven by eased mortgage requirements and low housing construction.
Stavanger led the surge with a 6.7% increase, followed by Kristiansand at 5.7%.
However, not all regions experienced growth—Bodø and Fauske reported a slight decline, continuing a downward trend from last year.
Experts attribute the price spike to reduced equity requirements for loans and limited new housing projects.
Despite the overall boom, challenges like high construction costs and regional disparities remain.
