Jannicke Mikkelsen has made history as Norway’s first astronaut, embarking on the groundbreaking Fram2 mission.
Launched aboard SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft, the team will orbit Earth from pole to pole, a first in human space exploration.
The mission, funded by bitcoin billionaire Chun Wang, aims to study the northern lights, conduct sleep research, and even grow oyster mushrooms in microgravity.
Mikkelsen, an experienced polar filmmaker, will capture unique images of the aurora to aid global scientists in understanding mysterious white northern lights.
The four-day mission is a tribute to Norway’s polar exploration legacy, blending cutting-edge science with pioneering spirit.
