The Norwegian Ministry of Defence has filed a lawsuit against the Spanish shipyard Navantia, which built the frigate KNM Helge Ingstad.
This legal action follows the frigate's collision with the tanker Sola TS in November 2018, resulting in the ship sinking and incurring damages exceeding 4 billion kroner.
Ole Kristian Rigland, a lawyer for the government, confirmed that the lawsuit is currently in process but declined to provide further details about its basis.
The Ministry of Defence had previously indicated potential legal steps against Navantia, especially after concerns arose regarding excessive water intake in the frigate.
As of now, Navantia has not responded to inquiries regarding the lawsuit.
