A man in his 30s was arrested in Oslo after attempting to place a rope around the neck of a 14-year-old student outside a school.

The incident occurred during a school break and appears to have been random, according to police.

The man, who showed signs of mental instability and possible substance use, approached the student and escalated the situation.

Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.

Police responded swiftly, apprehending the man shortly after the incident.

The school and police are providing support to the affected students.
