Floods Disrupt Roads in Innlandet

Published: 2024-08-24

In the wake of recent heavy rainfall, the Innlandet region in Norway is grappling with significant flooding and infrastructure challenges.

Two major roads in Ringsaker, County Road 1666 and County Road 1672, have been closed due to flooding, with detours set up via Tourist Road 213. The closures, which began last night, are causing concerns about potential impacts on school traffic if not resolved by Monday.

Meanwhile, a landslide north of Brumunddal and severe water damage in Gjøvik and Hamar have exacerbated the situation, with roads and properties suffering extensive damage.

Local authorities and contractors are working diligently to clear blocked culverts and secure affected areas.

Despite today's sunny weather, residents are urged to stay informed about road conditions as efforts to restore normalcy continue.
