A woman in her 70s from Møre og Romsdal, Norway, was deceived into traveling to Turkey and scammed out of several million kroner.
The perpetrators, posing as officials from Kripos and Interpol, manipulated her through phone calls and home visits.
Using psychological tactics, they convinced her to make cash withdrawals and transfers.
A family member alerted the police, leading to a rescue operation involving Norwegian and Turkish authorities.
The woman returned to Norway on February 18, but no arrests have been made.
Police warn of the increasing sophistication of such scams and urge vigilance against suspicious contacts.
