Young Norwegian Men Lean Towards Trump

Published: 2024-11-04

In a surprising political shift, a significant number of young Norwegian men are expressing support for Donald Trump in the upcoming U.

S. presidential election.

This trend is highlighted by a recent Ipsos poll, which shows that 47% of Norwegian men aged 18-29 would vote for Trump if given the chance.

This support is partly attributed to a perceived narrowing of acceptable discourse in Norway, with some young men feeling alienated by what they see as "woke" idealism.

Philosophical student Herman Winther, for instance, argues that traditional values and pragmatic solutions are being sidelined by the left, pushing many towards the right.

Subjekt editor Danby Choi also notes that Trump's image as a strong leader resonates with young men, contrasting with the media's often critical portrayal of him.

This political realignment reflects broader global trends where traditional masculine values are being re-evaluated in the political arena.
