Senterparti leader Trygve Slagsvold Vedum has proposed a significant tax reduction plan aimed at boosting economic growth in Northern Norway's largest cities, Bodø and Tromsø.
The plan includes cutting the employer's tax rate from 7.9% to 5.1%, aligning it with neighboring municipalities.
This move is expected to save Bodø alone between 75 and 80 million kroner annually.
The proposal has received praise from local leaders, including Bodø's mayor, who believes it will significantly benefit both the private and public sectors.
The tax cuts are part of a broader strategy to stimulate settlement and employment in the region, making these cities more attractive for new businesses.
Vedum's initiative is seen as a crucial step in ensuring the vitality and growth of Northern Norway's urban centers.
