A search operation in Jegersberg, Kristiansand, for a missing man in his 30s has ended tragically with the discovery of a deceased individual.

The man was reported missing after failing to return from a hike on Tuesday afternoon.

Despite extensive efforts involving over 40 volunteers, drones, and search dogs, the search concluded with the discovery of a body in the rugged terrain.

Police have confirmed that there is no suspicion of foul play, and the deceased's family has been notified.

The search, which began on Wednesday, saw significant community involvement, including the Red Cross and local rescue teams.

The police are now focusing on the investigation to confirm the identity of the deceased.
