Zaineb Al-Samarai, the president of Norway's sports federation, is under scrutiny after TV 2 revealed similarities in her 2012 master's thesis with other texts.
The analysis found that about five percent of her thesis matched content from a 2009 thesis, Wikipedia articles, and an opinion piece, none of which were cited.
Al-Samarai expressed regret, stating she tried her best to adhere to proper citation practices.
This incident follows similar cases earlier this year involving government ministers who resigned over plagiarism issues.
Al-Samarai's advisor at the time, current football president Lise Klaveness, declined to comment.
