Published: 2024-07-25

This year, higher education in Norway has seen a record number of applicants, with 135,980 individuals vying for 65,590 available spots across 27 universities and colleges.

The most competitive programs remain in medicine, with the University of Oslo (UiO) leading with a staggering entry score of 69.7. Psychology at UiO follows closely with a score of 68.1, highlighting the increasing interest in mental health studies.

Leah Emilie, a 17-year-old from Bømlo, successfully secured a place in the prestigious medical program at the University of Bergen, marking a significant achievement for young students.

Meanwhile, law studies at UiO have emerged as the most popular, attracting 2,102 first-choice applicants.

The trend indicates a growing preference for health and economic fields, while applications for teacher training continue to decline.
